A large percentage of the rollers NDW produces, are being assembled with an pneumatic press. The bearing cartridge is being inserted and pressed in the tube as final assembly step.
Currently this is done with a manual operated pneumatic press. Naturally this is an labour-intensive process. Therefore I started designing a machine that could do a large part of this process automatically.
The two cylinders are manually movable to accommodate several tube lengths. The transport of the tube through the machine is done through an geneva mechanism:
Because of this mechanism there is no need for an expensive servo motor to position and transport the roller. With the mechanical design complete, we started building the machine, currently it is still under construction.
